• A minimum of five years working full-time as a counsellor in the addiction area.
  • An accredited member of the IAAAC, and of other national umbrella counselling organisation: i.e. PSI. BACP etc.
  • Is in on-going supervision with an accredited and experienced supervisor for supervised work
  • Has undertaken a substantial training module/theory of clinical supervision i.e. a minimum of 100 hours
  • That during this training their supervised work was assessed and supervised
  • That relevant documentation on course content be submitted
  • Submit a detailed application form, together with audio-tape and notes of a supervisory session
  • Agree to abide by the IAAAC Code of Practice for Accredited Supervisors
  • Show evidence of professional Indemnity insurance
  • Payment of a processing fee and an annual fee for renewal of membership.
  • The decision of the Accreditation committee is subject to ratification by the Executive committee of the IAAAC.
